The modern e-Commerce Web Store is a sales
channel which must meet the fiscal objectives of your business.
Since these objectives vary from business to business, software
and hardware methods must be able to define, accommodate, and deliver
all needs. How can a business man control this?
Business
flexibility to accomplish this economically must reside in the ability
of the commerce software to be "plastic" enough to be quickly employed.
The software must cater to the demands of various levels of business
operations without encumbering rising support costs to both the
hosting party (the ISP) and to the client merchant. This factor
alone is the sole reason so many ISPs have been slow or simply reluctant
to provide e-commerce hosting to their clients.
It
is also the main reason for the proliferation of so many "cookie
cutter" type e-commerce packages which, while capable of handling
basic e-commerce functions, fall wide of the mark for larger business
requirements. It is also the answer to the question of why there
is such diversity in pricing for e-commerce solutions.
In
our view, e-commerce software should be modeled to fit your business
needs, not the other way around. The software must be able to deliver
the needs for a $1,000 store (the most basic), to a $25,000 store
or larger.
The
businessman should not have to pay exhorbitant sums and get stuck
with high consultant and maintance fees just to get the features
he needs to meet his sales objectives. He should not have to be
forced by budget to purchase a commerce package only to find out
he cannot tailor it to his company requirements. Or has to upgrade
to do the business he really needs to do.
Apparently,
what we call Standard e-Commerce Features many of our competitors
call Advanced Features -- and charge you accordingly.
We
are proud to say that the same Provider Plus Web Pro software package
has been used to build 5 - 100
product stores as well as a
30,000 product store. Because of its high degree of scalability,
basic business custom features, speed of page generation and ease
of modification at all levels - from your product ordering pages
to your checkout pages - you can put more money into building the
Web Store you really wanted in the first place.
Oh. Did we forget to tell you it only took
10 hours to generate those 30,000 pages (about 50,000 products) on an IBM 486 (in 1998)? Imagine what it would take on a new 2004 OC ....
